We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel with a solid experience with crypto and regulatory frameworks. Based in Singapore, you will primarily focus on supporting contracts related to our core services, including market making, OTC trading, custody, and other crypto financial services. Additionally, a key part of this role will be to provide legal and regulatory support.
Your responsibilities will include contract negotiation, regulatory adherence, risk assessment, and providing legal guidance on product structuring to support our market-making operations.
Your role and responsibilities
- Provide regulatory legal guidance on crypto asset and other financial regulations, ensuring compliance with Singaporean financial laws.
- Monitor changes in crypto and financial regulations, advising on their impact on the business.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts related to market making, OTC trading, custody, and other crypto services.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement policies in line with regulatory requirements.
- Manage external legal counsel relationships and coordinate legal matters as needed.
- Assist in risk mitigation strategies related to commercial agreements and regulatory obligations.
Requirements
Background and Experiences
- Master’s degree in Law or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in commercial legal roles within financial services, fintech, or crypto.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, including AML/CFT frameworks, and Singaporean financial laws.
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex contracts in financial or crypto-related services.
- Experienced in in-house administrative and compliance processes.
Skills and personality
- Curious and autonomous
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment.
- Professional proficiency in English is mandatory, another language is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
